Help computer not booting ,my old system configuration is 2.66GHz dual core , 1gb ram & 80 gb hard disk

my old system configuration is 2.66GHz dual core , 1gb ram & 80 gb hard disk in d101gcc mother board , now i had updated to 1 1gb ram, 80 160 gb hdd and 512mb gforce 8500 xfx graphics card.The problem is when i start the computer it displays warning message like (start windows normally, start with last known configuration etc, when i select an of those option it restarts again and displays the same warning message and goes on .. i could not start my computer can any one tell me whats wrong with my sys...plz...........

  1. One thing:

    It is possible that it has a problem with the ram. While it is booting up.

    I returns an error and it automatically restarts.

    Try selecting disable automatic restart on error on the options. you'll then see a blue screen of death.

    Either way. There is a problem with your new hardware.


  2. Go in to te BIOS and make sure the 80GB hard drive is the primary hard drive. And the 160 is the secondary.

    First remove the 160 and only start the machine w/ the 80. if it works then my theory is correct, your booting to the 160 and not the 80. Make sure your BIOS says to boot to 80.

    Unless you completely remove the 80gb HD and only want the 160gb hd, then you'll have to reinstall the OS on your 160 and keep the 80gb dont reformat it untill 1 month later, incase you'll need to pull off data from the device.

    Your other new hardware has nothing to do with the startup sequence, so don't worrie about it.
