I just inherited a green cheeked conure.She/he will hang sideways in/on her cage while spreading her tail feathers, fluffing up and shaking. Is she being territorial? Wanting to bond?( I own a mini parrot, and she's never acted like this). If we try to get her(conure) out/away of her cage, she bites like crazy.Once we get her away she's sweet as can be.I don't know much info except she likes music, and they referred to her an "evil thing".

I would appreciate any info I can get on green cheeked conures and this strange behavior would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

  1. Definately sounds like she is beind territorial.  If she doens't have a happy hut, get her one.  The happy hut will provide a smaller space for her to be territorial off, instead of the entire cage.  Get her away from the cage and work on step up and step down.  This training will also help.  If need be you can always stick train her (train her to step up, step down on a stick) which is very useful when working with agressive or territorial birds.
