  1. And you are posting this in the Royalty section because.....?

  2. Please be advised that those who post in the Royalty Section are assumed to have good credit! Standards will be upheld!

  3. Generally speaking people are not arrested for debt anymore.  However what can happen is you get sued for the debt and are ordered to pay by a certain date.  If you fail to pay by that date you can be jailed.  This is usually only for extremely high debtors though.

For your amount I would think that you would be sued and ordered to pay in which if you don't pay your wages are garnished.  This means if you are living paycheck to paycheck right now that you are screwed because you will lose some of your income.  Another thing to worry about is your credit record next time you buy a car or house and need a loan or mortgage.  It will be harder to get those types of loans and they could have a higher interest rate.

Your best bet is to contact the company and work something out on the phone.  If they demand 30/month and you can't afford that then tell them you can't afford that.  Offer 20/month.  Always ask to speak to a supervisor of some sort.  Ultimately most companies are willing to work something out with you as long as you pay a regular amount to them.
