I used to be the best batsmen in my school, I broke my hand missed our main match of the year and when I recovered I'm playing like the worst batter in my team. How do i get my form back?

  1. cricket is boring.

  2. dude.....don't say that you are now a worst batsmen in the team...Every cricketer who gets injured or breaks hand are going to go through that lean phase or you can say poor form. I think you need to do some strenghtening exercises and some more practices. You will have to do those two things and i would wish you all the best..... Just practice hard...

  3. Correct it is going to take a while to get back into-nick but I'm sure it will come. Being a batsmen is a hard game. A bowler can make one mistake and he's got 5 more balls in the over to make up for it, but as a batsman one mistake couldd cost your innings. Ithink in order for you to get back into form you need positive thinking, as batting is partly down to mental attitude.

You could also quicken up the process by grooving your shots. Plenty of net practice and wok on some minor faults you may have. Go back to basics and really concentrate on your head position, if your problem is that you are toppling over. You could do some top hand work against throw downs, if you find that you are playing across the line. I think fistly you need to look at your previous innings and look at how you have been out. After this you yourself should be able to tell how you need to practise and where improvement is needed. Although plenty of net practice wouldn't go a miss although net practice is no substitute for time in the middle, so in your next game take your time and bat yourself back into form. Dont play any rash shots at the start of the innings and build yourself little targets, eg 10, 20 and then possibly when you are on 20 look for 30 andt then 50. After all this I'm sure you'll be abck in form. Although don'y forget "form is temporary but class is permanent!"

  4. every batter has a bad patch ,.. so don't give up

    cricket is a mind game 65 %...~

  5. look at anybody in any sport who has had an injury, nobody comes straight back into the team and is as good as they were without match practice.

flintoff, sculthorpe(rugby league), wilkinson(rugby union), keane(football) but they all got there with match practice and fitness.

  6. be confident & work hard

  7. Bat as if the injury never happened. You should be in a better mindset. Concentrate. Be positive. Practice more. Think only about the delivery you are going to face, not about scoring a fifty.

  8. practice, practice

  9. Well if you are just getting over a broken hand it is going to take a while ro re-gain the strength in that hand.

Do some strengthening exercises with you hand, and also just keep practising.Give yourself time to come back.As long as you practise your batting you are doing your best.
