  1. Speaking in front of others by yourself IS nerve racking. Something you can do to make it easier is write your speech and practice it a couple times alone, and then 2 or 3 times in front of a friend. Then when it comes time for you to do your speech, just "scan" your audience, don't really lock eyes with anyone. You should maybe make eye contact with your friends and any important people. But remember to take a deep breath and try to relax as you walk up to where you're giving your speech.

    Good luck!!
