1. It can be very hard to get her to decide based on a photo online. Take her to JoAnn's Fabrics and look at the fleece selections that they have. Fleece doesn't have to have hems sewn into them, you can just cut off the ends and salvage. She will fall in love with a lot of them! Both of my girls love their fleece blankets! Once she chooses one that she likes buy 3 or more yards of the fleece. 2 yards to be used for a blanket and the last yard for a pillow sham. I've included a link for a coupon. Then buy her a plain colored comforter with sheets. Domestications has a good variety, at low prices. They even have bed-in-a-bag sets that are a good value. Pick a color or two from the fleece to paint the walls. If the fleece has a theme buy a couple of items to go with that. She'll love it and you'll be happy!

In a year or two she will be ready for a tweenage girls room!

  2. try disney character stuff

  3. It would help if you gave a few hints about your daughter but I'll try anyway...my daughter was 10 not too long ago.

At that age my little girl was into anything sparkly and kinda grown-up (not over the top) so I tried to do her room in a way that made her feel that way. I bought a couple cool lamps from Ikea to hang by her desk & put on her nightstand and a burgundy mosquito net with sparkly beads to hang over the bed. I dressed up the bed with colorful duvet and a ton of "fancy" throw pillows...the more beads and glitter the better. I found some funky (and cheap) pictures at Ikea too. Lastly, I got her a big cork board and a polaroid camera so she could take pictures of her friends and pets and put them on the board. She seemed to have a lot of fun finding things to put on the board and arranging things in just her way. It also made her room "hers".

I probably spent $150 total and, although her room was "decorated" it wasn't so permanent that it couldn't be changed or updated a year or so later when she was ready for a new look.
