Help deinterlacing?

Hey, I'm watching Futurama Volume 2(NTSC, Region 1) on my Mac with the DVD Player and I need some help deinterlacing. I keep playing with the settings, but the bars either stay there or the picture gets blurry. How can I fix this?

Futurama is a cartoon. Interlace has no meaning because it did not have interframe motion when created. in fact it probably is double shot, so that frames actually update only 12-15 times per second. why are you not using the default movie settings?
