  1. hi son

if you find any problem with water you can buy all your needs at one time instead of going out each time you want to drink and if find your grandpa's cpmputer doesn't face your needs

you can buy a new computer with the specifications you want but don't forget that if your parents hadn't gone to America you wouldn't have been born there and wouldn't have been an American and you would have been like any other Egyptian boy of your age who drink the unsafe water and use a pentiem 2 or a pentiem 3 cpmputer because he can't offer its price so be patient and you will love your country of origin

  2. hmm, how come you are American and your parents are Egyptians, anyways, start by getting a new laptop or computer, there is version mega store and alot of other stores, then you must make Friends, i don't know about that you may already have if you don't i should get some... if i was in Egypt and i have nothing to do, i would go to a club and play sports that's really fun... there are shams club (the biggest), ahly, gezeera, and more in Cairo... if u were in Alex the is Alexandria sporting club ( the best place on earth for me) and smooha club ,,,, i prefer sporting smooha is not very nice... then you can hang out with the Friends you made in malls or in clubs.. that's fun.. you can also go to sharm el shaikh for diving and fishing and safari... or travel to  marsamatrooh... you will know new things as you spend more time there... Egypt is fun...

  3. hey there ;)

i am an american and just moved to cairo  a few weeks ago...yes the transition is quite hard and it will take some getting used too....

for starters, there are tons of internet cafes all over the place on every street corner practically and generally you should pay about 50 cents an hour....

second, buy some bottled water and stop whining about that, thats easily fixed.

egypt is really cool once you give it a chance...the people are very nice, and if you head to the malls -cairo has a huge one called city stars or something that has really nice cenemas (just like american ones with lots and lots of american films)

....if you are in alexandria it also has a very nice mall called san stafano...

give it a chance you will grow to really like it....

    good luck ;)

  4. you are suffering from a cultural shock.

take it easy , and get your needs , bottled water and DSL .

start to look with new eyes at your family , the people , the culture .

im sure you will find  interesting  thinhs that would impriny fond memories in your mind .

im sure your family loves you and want to do the best for you .

start to take the gifts of your family and your country with appreciation.

you will love them, im sure.

  5. Hey there,

Sima gave you some good advice, i just want to tell you that for sure Egypt is wayyyy different than the US, but it has a taste of its own, u might hate it at first cos all this is new to you and like you said its a BIG change, still there are some breathtaking places in Egypt and i am sure you will make some wonderful memories here.

Just try to be more open, see beyond the pollution and the traffic, talk to the people get to know them better and wait till you go places like Sharm or Hurghada.... you would love it there.

Cheer up and have a wonderful time.

  6. Your parents took you there to learn about your history and where you come from.  You have to realise that things are different but because of those differences you learn to accept and embrace them.  You know you are one lucky kid.  Most people dont know where they come from and if they did most of their family are from here and never even seen past their own town.  Take this opportunity and learn the cultures and explore, make friends with the other kids in the neighborhood.  You will find that they too have fun like yourself.  Just because you dont have the technology in your hands at the moment doesnt mean you forget how to be human and socialise with your parents, aunts, uncles  cousins and grandparents.  Take this time to bond instead of complaining.
