Help e36 or e46 my bmw???

Question

how do i know if my bmw is an e36 or e46???

its a 1999 323i sedan

cd player is

am fm

scan cd

its because i want this

a 1999 323i is an E36, if its a coupe. You have a sedan so its an E46.

"The 4 door models were discontinued for 1999. Replacing it was the all-new E46. The 2 door E36 was still made for the 1999 year. So in 1999 you could only choose between a 2 door E36 and a 4 door E46."

All 323s are E46.  The E36 never carried that designation.

The 323i e36 series was produced in the U.S. from 1996-1998, with the switchover to the e46 series in 1998.  BMW did the 323 e46's until 2000.

This means yours is an e46.
