Help find area of rectangle and the rectangle inside of it?

you want to make a rectangular pond. its length is 6 feet more than twice its width. you want a walkway 2 feet wide around the pond. find the area; find expression and answer.

=(2w+6)w

=3w+6w

If you add the walkway, the area is:

(2w+6+2)w+2

3w+8w+2

You need more information.  A 2x10 rectangle and a 3x12 both have a length that's "6 feet more than twice the width". You can put a 2 ft wide walkway around either of them.  But they have different areas,
