i want to create a website for my friends to view when i leave for my trip. i need to find some type of blog or something that i can post both videos, pictures, and writing on. i want to make it sort of like an online travel journal. i would like something organized (a section for videos, a section for pictures, etc.) with descriptions of my days and other writing and links. any links for free blogs that are well organized that would work for an online travel journal? thanks!

  1. I think www.blogger.com would be good

  2. You can set up a free account on Flickr (http://flickr.com ), which is all about posting images. Then, connect it to any of the following free blogging services:

    - Blogger/Blogspot (http://blogger.com )

    - LiveJournal (http://livejournal.com )

    - Wordpress (http://wordpress.com )

    - Vox (http://vox.com )

and more which you can check out through here:

    http://flickr.com/help/blogging/

You can also set up a 360 space on your Yahoo account, which has blogging capabilities. You can post videos, pictures, and writing. While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page.

////You should be able to do the following to get into your 360 space, when you've activated your 360:

    - LOG OUT of all Yahoo services

    - Go to http://360.yahoo.com

    - Click the teeny tiny "Sign-in" link on the upper left of the page. After signing in, the page refreshes and you should click on the teeny tiny "Yahoo 360 Home" link on the upper right of the page to get into the 360 space.////

Then, compose a blog entry each day (i.e. add text) and upload a JPEG image under 5MB in file size to that entry.

NOTE: Keep in mind that 360 is a beta version, so there will be bugs.  You can't contact the Y!360 team about it because the service will be transitioning and integrating with a new platform in the second half of 2008 and they are no longer fixing bugs. Read more about that in the Y!360 blog - http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 . So, there have been people who have lost the use of various areas of their 360 - including the blog at some point.
