Question:

Help finding cheaper college books?

So far, I have a list of nine college books for five classes for my first semester, a list of their offered prices at the bookstore, and an internet connection.

I've looked at half.com, amazon.com, and a couple other book selling sites, and I haven't been able to beat the university's prices. I know the "international version/edition" could save me a bundle, but the sites I have found on these have been junk. I can't even find the right edition of my book (for example, if I'm looking for 7th I will never find anything above 5th).

Any suggestions on where I can find cheaper books online, or good sites with international versions?

Thanks for your help!

  1. Have you tried http://www.textbooks.com/ I got a few books from there that were pretty cheap.

  2. cheapbooks.com and you can also rent books nowadays

  3. Try

    http://www.chegg.com

They will rent you your textbook it sound different but me and my friends have tried this out and it help save me a lot of money

Ex. My business law book would have cost me at the bookstore used $95 they charged me $56 to rent the book for one semester.

This site helped me so much I hope it helps you to.  Good Luck.

  4. bigwords.com will compare prices from all the other websites for you.

  5. I saved about $60 buying used books through Amazon. I only needed four books for one class.

You might want to see if you can borrow any books from your library.

  6. You could try putting up psoters with a list of the books you need and a way to contact you. The book store buy the books back at such a rediculasly low price that students can sell them themselves and make a lot more more than the bookstore would give.
