Ok here is part 4. What should come next? Don't forget to go over Help I'm stuck with my story Part1, part 2, part 3, and part 4.

. I didn’t know which was worse. The fact that he almost killed me at the bank or that I almost fell for him without hesitation. The thought of him made my body feel numb. I felt that cold stare from his icy blue eyes shivering down my spine. I ran downstairs not able to hold it in any longer.

“Mom, Meredith is missing! Conner escaped from the police! I don’t know how it all happened. I think he might be holding her hostage! I don’t know what to do about it,” I said all in one breath.

“Ok, ok just calm down. Maybe the phone call was just a prank. Or maybe Meredith just wanted some time to herself and went out for a little while.

I couldn’t listen to my mom say that. It just wasn’t right. She is my best friend!

Just then, the phone rang.

“Hello?”

“So what time do you want me to pick you up?” a familiar voice asked.

“The movies! Oh Will I completely forgot. Listen, I can’t go. Meredith is missing, and Conner somehow escaped from the police, and-“

“Hey don’t worry about it! It’s ok. We’ll do it some other time.” Will interrupted.

“Ok I’ll talk to you later ok?”

“Ok, bye.”

“Hey mom, I’m going out for walk ok?”

“Uh sure, just don’t be out too long.”

I ran out the front door with tears in my eyes. I just had to get away. I needed sometime to myself. I wanted to find Meredith, but I didn’t know where to look or what to do. “Ok think,” I said to myself. Where could Meredith be, and why? Of course, Conner is the number one suspect. Who else would have had a reason to take her? Meredith may have made him mad at school, but does that really give him a reason to kidnap her?

Interrupting her thoughts, a huge van pulled over to her side. Two men jumped out, clamped something that smelled sweet over my nose and mouth, and threw me in the van. My only thought was to try to get free. My whole body went numb. My legs and arms felt lifeless, and then……….….blackness.

Hours later, I woke up. I was sitting on something hard. I sneezed. Great; dust. The feeling started to come back to my arms and legs. That’s when I realized that my ankles and wrists were tied together. There was something covering my mouth, wait, no they were just numb. I screamed as loud as I could wondering if that was a good idea or not. Suddenly, a man came running into the room.

“Hey! Keep it quiet in here,” he said in a hushed tone.

“Why should I? You kidnapped me!” I snapped back.

“Not me,” he answered, “two other guys.”

“Then what are you doing?” I asked.

“I’m here to get you out,” he said briskly.

“But why? How did you even know where I was?” I asked, now whispering.

“That’s not important right now,” he replied.

Within the next minute, he had me cut loose from my bindings. I rubbed my wrists and ankles to get the circulation flowing again. They hurt really bad, but I couldn’t let that overtake me right now.

“Follow me,” he said.

I heard footsteps coming toward me.

“Quick, hide! I’ll get them out!” he whispered.

I ran to the nearest closet and closed the door as quietly as I could, daring to breath.

“Is the girl, still in there?” one of them asked.

“I don’t know,” he replied, “I haven’t been in there yet. But I’m sure she is. How could she have escaped anyways?”

One of the guys opened the door to the room where I was supposed to be.

“She gone!” he yelled, “What happened? Chris, did you let her out?!”

“No I swear I didn’t do anything!” he yelled back.

“I told you not to interfere!” he bellowed, “I told you what would happen if you did!”

“No! You can’t, please, I-“

I watched through the crack in the door as the taller guy took a gun and shot it at Chris’ chest. The two men walked off, leaving his body. As tears were forming, I left the closet and ran outside not even thinking about how much I was hurting from the ropes. It was daylight. I had been there for a while. I have to get home, now. My mom has probably already called the police.

Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me. Shaking harder than ever, I ran as fast as I could, but then I heard a voice.

“Nicole, stop it’s me!”

I stopped and turned around recognizing that voice.

“Meredith! Where were you? What happened? Are you ok?” I spit out as fast as I could.

“I was in the same place that you were. Chris helped me escape. I was already out of the room that they were keeping me in, when I saw them bring you in. Chris told me that he would help you, and that I should go ahead and get out while I could,” Meredith answered.

We put our arms around each other and walked home. We walked through the front door and found my mom standing there waiting.

“Nicole!” she cried out, “darling where were you?”

She cried as I told her everything that had just happened.

“I can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it. Why did this- Chris, did you say? - help you?” she asked.

“I don’t know, b
