Help fix my block to the right?

Alright i hit the ball about 285-290 and thats good for a fourteen year old but i tend to block alot of my shots. Any tips that can help improve this?

  1. use a unblocker club.


  2. Block right is usually caused by the hips sliding to the left instead of turning to the left.  Think about hitting against a firm left side, and turn the hips out of the way.

  3. Stop swinging so hard.  At 14, your bones and joints are still developing. (think anterior cruciate ligaments.....)  Also, blocking is caused by sliding the hips instead of turning them, which means that your turning is occurring in your left knee entirely, instead of partly with the knee and partly with the hips and partly with the shoulders.

    Stop swinging so hard until you're a bit older AND you have corrected your swing.

    This issue is a little like the issue of lifting heavy weights too young.  Do it right now, and you can do it for many years to come.
