Question:

Help fixing my sleeping schedule?

My sleeping schedule is messed up. I wake up at 12:00PM and go to sleep around to 1 or 2AM. School starts Tuesday and I need to wake up at 6 without feeling lagged all day. Coffee doesn't work because it gives me a headache. Help!

  1. you just need to wake your self up early and force yourself out of bed. or ask someone to MAKE you wake up. then you will be tired earlier in the evening. it sounds simple but it works for me and i'm always messing up my sleep pattern i got up at 3pm today!!!!


  2. You state you are only achieving 4-5 hours sleep, average sleep requirements are 7-8 hours so it is little wonder your sleep is not restorative and you feel lethargic through the day.

    You are not achieving enough delta pattern sleep so i doubt you get much REM sleep if any at all, that's when you dream and which is the restorative period, delta pattern is deep sleep which powers you down to recharge background physical processes and if you don't get past that stage your mind does not recharge itself properly, if at all, which has a compound effect over time adding to your everyday stress levels and tension etc.

    Please try to fit more sleep into your life, 6-7 will do, 8 would be better at least until your back to feeling better during the day, 4-5 simply is not enough.
