Help for Jobs and life please...?

Okay, so I know this is kind of early but... I need to start looking for a job... I am in the army reserves, and I'm 74 Delta NBC specialist. I'm going home in March but I need to start thinking about a job for when I get home, but right now I only have a high school diploma and some army training. I'm going to school too, I will be just started freshmen year of college. I am looking for an apartment too, but I dont have any credit yet. If it helps any I'm going to be living in Battle Creek, MI because my fiance lives there. (but he's in the same situation.) So my questions are....

1. Where do I begin?

2. How do I start looking for an apartment?

3. What jobs should I be looking at?

4. Does anyone know of a good paying job to look at with army qualifications?

5. How do I get a car, apartment, and stuff like that with out any credit, and with little money and no one to co-sign for me.

I know this is a lot and I know there is very little I can do now... but is there any help? Is there any help for reserves army like there is for active?

Please help me... I'm in over my head and need help soon! All help would be amazingly grateful....

Thank you for your time... =0)

  1. Look at the first site now and use it as best you can. When you get back to BC, Go straight to the VA and get your education benefits going. Also, while you are at the VA, find the DAV or VFW. Go in and ask for a Service Officer. Tell them what your status is and ask them for advice. These guys work with the VA and know when you're getting the shaft and when you're not (yes Virginia, the VA will try to s***w you)

One other thing. If you were ever seen for something medically and received treatment, FILE A CLAIM, FILE A CLAIM, FILE A CLAIM. Did I mention FILE A CLAIM? Do this with the DAV or VFW. DO NOT FILE A CLAIM DIRECTLY WITH THE VA. That whole process is a nightmare in it's self, believe me, after 30 years I know. I know medical documents are e-filed now but get copies, either on disc of photo copied. Keep a set at home and give another set to a family member, trust me, you'll be really glad you did.

As far as the financial situation, if there is a bank or credit union on post, go in and talk to them. They with have better advice than you'll find  here at yahoo.

The second site is Gov. jobs. This is one of those that you'll need a pot of coffee and visine to go thru.

If I can help you any more drop me an email and I'll do what I can. Good Luck!

  2. Use Google, HotJobs.com, and read through Army Times and local newspapers.

Check into USAA for perhaps a loan.

Maybe a ROTC scholarship where they'll pay for your tuition, books, and give you a monthly stipend?
