Help for grammar-Have you ever been in love?

Have you ever been in love?<- is this sentence grammatically correct? 'cause my English teacher today said "no, no it's wrong!". She said the mistake was in the form, not in the meaning. Dunno maybe you can enlighten me -.-?

Oh and if you don't mind, could you write two lines of explanation? I'd like to print this page and give it to my teacher. Maybe you're thinking I'm crazy, but I'm dying to get an "A", so I'm pretty upset about this thing.

Don't bother to let me know how my grammar suck, I already know myself -.-

  1. I do not see any problem in your syntax-Your teacher is trying to get you to write incorrectly! "Had you ever been in love?"

is what she probably wants you to write because you wrote 'been' making it past tense. "Have" makes more sense though!!!!

  2. I see no errors in your sentence. I cannot understand what your teacher's objections are.
