My 14-year old brother very clearly suffers from an almost severe form of social phobia, yet my parents are completely against therapy of any kind. Nothing he says can convince them to take him to therapy. Is there any hope? What can he do?

  1. hmm. this sounds serious

well. i guess the main issue will be his lack of self-confidence

i think that you are in the best position to help him gain confidence--

if he has difficulty opening up to people you could consider getting a pet-- like a dog or hamster and get him to play with it and see how he responds.

hmm. you could also get him to write a diary if he doesn't verbally voice out his opinions/ feelings--

No matter how tough the situation may be, don't give up! =)
