Help from those of you that wear contacts?

I've been wearing contacts for a couple of years now and I've had the same brand for almost a year. Today when I woke up I felt fine, but when I put my contacts in about an hour ago my left eye instantly felt itchy. I thought it would go away after a few minutes, but it didn't, and when I looked in the mirror maybe 10 minutes later, BOTH of my eyes were red (even though the right one doesn't itch). I took the contacts out, and my left eye still itches alot and they're still red. What the h**l? Why is this happening? I have to go to work in an hour, and I really need to wear my contacts...

  1. i wear them too n when mine itches i use visine dry eyes drops before i put my contacts in. also u should visit ya eye doc n c if a different brand would work, or simply js change ur lenses to a fresh new pair.

  2. ive been weariin lenses since i was nine and that means three years now, and this sort of thing often happens.

If I were you, wash them in the ocntact lense cleaning liquid stuff, leave them out and give your eyes a rest.

  3. you need to buy new contacts, there probably germs on those ones from improper use, when you buy new ones keep them very clean and safe.

  4. This has happened to me a few times.  If you wear disposable lenses, then it is probably time to start using a new pair.  If not then they may just need to be cleaned better.  There are also some days when my eye just does not want to have a lens so I'll wear my glasses when needed.

  5. That happens to me every once in a while.  You may have gotten something on your hands, or your lense case is contaminated with something.  If you have another pair, I would just put them in, and keep the other ones soaking in solution.  Make sure you wash your hands, and clean the lense case.  I know how it feels, they burn and you can't keep your eye open.
