Question:

Help getting a car for college?

I currently have a 96 camaro that was totalled in may and my dad and I salvaged. It was all superficial damage but the car has around 130,000 miles on it and I am moving to a snowy part of the state to go to college. I need a newer car that can handle the snow a little better than a rearwheel drive sports car. My parents have excellent credit and I talked to my mom about getting a new car and she agrees it is necessary. But she isnt the deciding factor. The problem is that my dad gets very attached to cars and he has a real love for camaros and my car in general. Can any one please help me to try to convince my dad that a newer car is necessary? When my car was totalled we settled on $3k so I would have a down payment if I can get my dad to agree. thanks!

  1. Why don't you ask your dad to trade cars with you? That way he can still have the Camaro he loves and you can drive his car while you are at college.

  2. Get a Ford dude!!!!!!!!!!

  3. audi, subaru, and mitsubishi all have solid all-wheel drive cars, which is paramount for driving in snow. and if your dad lets you and its in the budget, all three of those manufacturers make awesome fast cars with all wheel drive, audi s4 or s5, subaru wrx sti, and mitsubishi evolution
