  1. The 20D uses all EF and EF-S lenses. Please tell us what kind of photography are you in to so we can help you choose the right lens for you.

  2. Tell us what you need the lens to do and we could be of more help.

    Portraits: 50mm F1.8 $88 or 1.4 $325

Sports, Wildlife 70-200mm F2.8 IS $1,600 non IS $1,000 or F4 $600 or 70-300mm lenses would be good. The 70-300 will range from $200-$600 depending on which model.

    Macro: 100mm F2.8 macro $470

    Landscape/ architecture 10-22mm wide angle $690.

General walking around 24-105 $1,000 or 28-135 $400 would be good.

If you do a lot of low light work you want the fastest lenses you can afford. Look for lenses with a large aperture like F2.8 or larger. The large aperture zooms can get very expensive but are worth it if you can afford them.

  3. There are a lot of choices available.  Start off with knowing what your budget is.  Then determine what type of lens you want.  Do you want a telephoto lens to shoot from a distance?  Do you want to take portraits?  Do you want to shoot close ups (macro)?  Do you want to take wide angle pictures?  Do you want a zoom lens?  Once you know what type you want, look for the best (higest quality of optics) and fastest (lets in the most light - has lowest F-Stop) lens you can get within your budget.

It's hard to go wrong, quality wise, with any modern lens made by Canon.
