Help getting in shape for volleyball!!?

volleyball tryouts are in about a week and a half, and i need help getting my body ready for them. i havent excercised in a few weeks, and i need to make sure that im in top condition for tryouts because i really need to make the team. any tips on healthy meals (breakfast & lunch are the meals i usually have trouble with) that will do good things for my body, or ways to tone my stomach and legs?? help is GREATLY appreciated!! thanks!

  1. wall sits, crunches, push ups, bench press, box jumps, dots(kinda like hop scotch), jump rope, jump side to side and forward and backward over a line, squats, and make sure you stretch a lot and run a little too.  

    as for eating, never EVER forget to eat breakfast espessially is your working out in the mornings because you have to have calories in your body for it to burn off.  Eat things like bananas, yogurt, cereal, milk, water and such.

    for lunch and dinner make sure your eating lots of protein and things like pasta because they're really good for you.

For my JV volleyball team, we ran stairs(at least 5 times up and down), jump roped (1 minute slow, 30 seconds medium speed, and 3 sets of 15 seconds of as fast as you could go and then a 1 minute cool down jump), ran (5 minutes), push ups (15) and crunches (50, with your legs as straight up in the air that you could get them), and squats(30).  Also, eating a balanced diet will help.  If you cut out pops all together and focus on drinking water and juices, it will help you as well as eating fruits and veggies. good luck!

  3. u have kinda left it a bit late... if u go 2 extreme with excersise then u will end up really tierd 4 the tryouts. make sure ur getting enough sleep for one thing. also just eat a balanced diet full of carbs, fresh fruit and vegies and plenty of water!

  4. practice doing wallsits and lunges to get your legs in shape i would also run a mile a day because coaches usually make their players run at tryouts

    for breakfast have bagels and peanut buter for protein and a banana for potassium also drinking lots of water will help you get in shape!!!

    as for your stomach try doing pilates or yoga or just plain old situps and crunches

    if you do some every night you will be a litttle more toned for tryouts!!!

  5. a good toning exercise for ur stomach is...

    lay completely flat on the floor. then raise ur legs up to about 3 inches off the floor while keeping them straight....hold for 20 seconds then lower them back to the floor.  relax for 5 seconds and repeat.

  6. If you put all your strength and your heart into it,

    you can get your body in shape and you will make the team.

    Just be ready for pain.

    Do a few laps around your neighborhood and time them so that you can see how you're progressing.

    Also work on you upperbody strength,

    you'll need that for all volleyball skills.
