I am interested in getting in to karting and both tracks around me have a class called adult briggs medium. The only information they give is that the karts have to be at minimum 345# but nothing else. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where i could find a kart to run new or used in that class. Also any other information is appreciated

  1. Your best bet is to attend a race, get a pit pass and just go back and talk to some of the racers. Most people in this sport are very friendly and would be glad to help you get started. Also find out what the sanctioning body is at those tracks (usually IKF or WKA) and get a copy of their rulebook.

4cycle.com has huge forums and any question you could want answered probably already has been on there and it also has a lot of classifieds of people selling karts and parts.

Lastly, my email is juststeward10@yahoo.com and you can always email me for help as well. Good luck man, it can be a bit overwhelming when you first start out, but it is an absolute blast.

  2. Yes, the best place for info is at the track. Racers often sell off their stuff and you can find a geat package deal on everything you need to get started. Find a local kart store if there is one. That's always a good place to find stuff for sale as well. Also take a look at this - http://www.kartfinder.com/
