I GOT A TICKET IN DEKALB COUNTY GA FOR CREATING A HAZARDOUS AND OFFENSIVE CONDITION , when i crossed a double line to pass a motorist going 5 miles a hour, there was no oncoming traffic and all was clear........fine will be 365.00.........i find this to be outrageous.......how can i fight this and keep points off my record.........i have a clean driving record until now.

  1. I am sorry and I know this isnt what you want to hear, but a double line means NO PASSING. To pass someone, regardless of the speed they are doing, you must have a dotted line on your side.

PS....the other guy should have also been cited for obstructing traffic, but that is besides the point here.

Best advice is to see if you have traffic school in Ga. If so, ask if that is an option and TAKE IT. It will reduce the fine and possibly eliminate the points on your license.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful
