Help how can i convince parents to buy me a laptop?

My friends all have really nice laptops and I don't. The computer I use is ancient, and very very slow. Well, my dad is a computer programmer person, so we have a bunch of computers (about 5 or 6 not including my parents laptops, they each have 1) but they are all slow and old. the only new computers here are my parents laptops, and they are sitting in front of them now as i speak (or type should i say). I really really really really want a laptop (because i would like a good NEW up to date computer to go on. And i can take it up to my room, itll actually be my very own computer) but parents say the computer i use is perfectly fine even though i protest its too outdated. PLEAS EHELP ME im desperate to convince them

Sit them down and discuss what you can do to reach your goal.  If you need to work, would then split the cost with you, could you do stuff around the house to equal money against it, ask them what ever it will take you will do. Just remember cheap Holiday sales are coming.

get a job and pay for it. they cant say no to that.

spill water on all the computers

tell them you absolutely need a program for a class.

ask if you can sell the old ones on ebay to help pay for a new laptops.
