Help! how do i negotiate paying an old phn bill from a year ago?

i ended my service with sprint and i was just going to pay them the full amount but my sister said i can negotiate. Does anyone know how to do that?

Why don't you just do the honest thing and pay them what you owe?

Is this an old unpaid bill that has been sent to collections?  Or is this the final bill?  You probably won't get too far trying to negotiate the final bill but you can make an offer.

If it's in collections, ask for a delete for pay -- your pay and they delete the item from your credit report.  If the debt is less than 2 years, you can try offering 75%.  Send the collector a letter and ask that an authorized agent sign and return a copy of your letter indicating acceptance of your offer.  When you get the signed copy, send them a money order.  Do not give them direct access to your bank account.
