I wear 9.5 shoe normally, but I am new to running. I measured my foot and it is 10.25 inches from heel to longest toe. conversion tables say that up to 10.5 in is for 9.5 size. but!! running shoes are different than regular shoes. what size should I get? I have had problems in the past fitting shoes so I want to know how to get the right size shoe depending on the brand...whats the trick. thanks.

  1. Put the shoes on and make sure its snug. Also make sure there is between 1-2inches of space from the top of the shoe and your toe. Make sure you have the heel of your feet all the way to the bottom,so when you measure it it'll be accurate. Most importantly, do a jog-in-place to make sure you're comfy with the fit. If not, try another.... :)

  2. The best thing to do is ask for help from the footwear staff of a decent store. They're trained and experienced, and will help you find the perfect shoes for your feet.

  3. Honestly- go to a specialty running store near you where all they sell is running shoes and gear. They'll fit you properly and recommend the right shoes for the way you run.
