  1. As far as your sister goes, I assume that you would have to go through the court and request custodial rights.  Im sorry it is such a mess...I can not imagine how heartbreaking it would be to leave your sister.  I would suggest you start right away, talking to your case worker or whoever will listen about your rights and what you can do now to ensure that she goes with you when you leave.

    Good luck to you both!!

  2. you should be able to move out when you turn 18 but you would still have to finish school. i dont think they have any right to keep you after you turn 18. If your sister wants to i think she will beable to live with you but i think your foster parents would have to sign off on it.

  3. How "little" is your sister?

You should talk to your case worker.  There are some important questions you need to go through before taking on a kid.

Income, housing, food, supervision/hours away from home are all things they'll be looking for when considering you as a guardian to your sister.

That said, family court likes placing kids with family members.

  4. I'm sure you have to be a certain age to take someone into care like that.  I suppose you could apply to be a legal guardian, but that would be a large committment, and then you'd have to pay for everything for her. This is a toughie....
