this is the question:

Read chapters XVII-XIX, which tell about the animal stories in Bantu myths and legends. With what types of characteristics do these stories imbue animals? How do their depictions of animals compare to that of the Egyptians? Once again, do these similarities and contrasts tell us anything about these respective cultures?

i guess the questions are pretty simple, but i dont understand what they are asking in some of them. i dont know where to find the answers either. Please HELP!! thanks so much!!

  1. Your answers will come from knowing the Egyptian representation of animals.  Find info on how the Egy. gave animal forms to gods of ceratin natures...jackal, cow, cat, allogator, ibis (crane), etc.  Compare the 'personalities' depicted by both Egy. and in Bantu myths.  We do this still:  NB these are not the necessarily the same for Egy/Bantu; foxes as sly and sneaky, turkeys as stupid and scared, dogs as loyal or faithful, intelligent.

The stories of Bantu show the character of each animal through their actions.  Are they wise, gullible, humorous, frightening, slow, maternal, etc?

    Hope this helps.
