  1. DO NOT get the built in dvd c**p. In the past I have seen so many of those combo tvs where the built in units stop working, or have very low quality. If you are getting a HDTV, get a seperate dvd player or even possibly a blu-ray player which could also play regular dvds and fully utilize your new tv in full HD.  Either way get a seperate dvd player, this would keep the quality of your products high and things more interchangable incase you need to replace/fix either component.

  2. I would highly advise you not to get any TV with  DVD built into it. Those can usually be difficult to work with and if anything goes wrong with it then you are stuck with an unwanted repair bill or the hassel of having a non-working DVD player in your TV. I woudl suggest your DVD player be an external component. If you are in the market for an HDTV I would suggest going to the consumer reports website and educating yourself about the different options: LCD, DLP and Plasma. They all have their little differences and I'm sure you can determine which type fits your needs best.

  3. I hate paying for Built in DVD players on TV sets...they break and then they break some more...

I really think the DVD is an AFTERTHOUGHT.....

Bert : Hey! Nobody is buying our TV set!  Look at Sony over there...they're selling everything and so is Mitsubishi ! What's wrong with our TV set ?!

Ernie :  The color for one...the brand name for another...the (mmph!)

Bert: Ok Ok !! I get the point ! Now shut up and help me think of how to sell our stock !

Ernie : You could stick a DVD player in it....or an automatic Martini-maker...
