Help...i might be pregnant??

ok so my boyfriend and i just had s*x for the first time last week...we were both virgins and used a condom...plus we pulled out. im only 16 and i know thats very young but we made this decision together and i dont regret it or anything i mean i love him. but anyways... i am supposed to start my period this week and i think im pms-ing but im like deathly afraid that i'm pregnant. i know that the chances are very slim because we used protection. but still... i feel like ive gained weight (like around my belly) but that could just be bloating from pms.

i've dug myself quite a hole here...i am supposed to get my physical next month and i know my doc will ask me if im sexually active...but i dont want my parents to find out so could the doctor tell my parents? plus im on medication that requires some form of birth control because if you do have a baby while on the medication, it causes the baby to be deformed...so i chose abstinance as my source of birth control and i have no idea what to do about that?? so could someone please just give me some advice or some type of outlook as to what the h**l i should do?

thank you so much...

  1. all you can really do is wait.

i know how you feel. but sometimes your mind tricks your body into believing that you are pregnant even though you aren't ( i know it sucks) but all you have to do is wait and i know it sucks that you have to wait but there isn't anything else you can do. you can buy a pregnancy test if you are really that scared but just wait it out. your body could be reacting in a weird way because it isn't used to having s*x and it could cause your hormones to fluctuate, causing your period to be late.

but there is NO way that your doctor can tell your parents it is actually illegal and he/she can get their license revoked if they say anything. it is a patient and doctor confidentiality thing.

    good luck though!

  2. You’re stressing for no reason.  You’re not pregnant.  Most condoms have a spermicidal gel in them anyway.  And no your doctor cannot mention anything you tell him to your parents.  And again no, your doctor cannot tell your parents about birth control.  One thing I have learned is that you should always be 100% truthful to your doctor.  And you should probably go on the pill. (Getting pregnant at this age would not be cool!)  You don’t even need your parents for consent for the prescription.

    One thing to note:

You might be surprised about how well your parents take it.  Maybe you should sit down and talk with your mom.  16 years old isn't that young to start having s*x, especially if your partner is around the same age.  I just heard a statistic on the radio that nearly 60% of people lose their virginity between the ages of 16-18.

  3. First off, the chances you are pregnant are pretty slim.  Unless the condom broke, and then you could get pregnant from the pre-ejaculate.  So its not impossible.  As for the weight gain, its wayyy too early for that.  It definitely could be bloating, which can be attributed either to PMS or pregnancy.  Your doctor cannot tell your parents anything.  Doctor-patient confidentiality.  Tell your doctor that you are now sexually active so you can get on birth control.  If you parents ask, you could always say you have had trouble with your periods being painful and thats why they gave you bc.  I know you don't want to tell them you are having s*x.

  4. If he withdrew and you used a condom I can about guarantee you that you're not pregnant.  I think you'll be just fine and that you're only getting a bit paranoid about it.  Just calm down and relax, because you're fine! (:

As far as doctors go?  What you say is suppose to remain confidential, but you can, I'm sure, ask your doctor to not mention anything about your s*x life to your parents just in case I'm incorrect about the confidentiality thing.

But all-in-all don't worry honey. (: You're completely fine.  I know when I first slept with my BF I was scared, but in time I grew to realize how unlikely my chances were and I relaxed and was, indeed, fine!

  5. its not slim to get pregnant even if you used a condom. My uncle and his wife just found out they were pregnant and they were using protection.

    1. Your periods arent always going to be regular. Mine get all messed up sometimes too.

    2. Your not going to gain wait within a week.

But if your doctor asks you if your sexually active you dont need to tell him really because its not going to have any effect on anything going on during your physical. But if you do want to tell him im almost positive he cant say anything to your parents.

I have been in that same exact situation when i was your age. I didnt want my parents knowing but then obviously they found out eventually.

You do want to get your PAP smear though if your going to keep having s*x. just so you know your clean and healthy
