I have been trying to figure out a way to eliminate going into the US, but haven't found a way. Is there any way to just stay on the Trans Canada Highway? Thank you.

  1. Head west to North Bay, take 11 Northern TCH, in Nipigon you meet back up with the 17, stay on 17 to Manitoba border, just west of Portage La Prarie, take the Yellowhead west, stay on it and you can't miss Edmonton.

  2. try using mapquest,

they have some options like avoiding major highways, maybe they have an option to aviod leaving the country.

  3. No you can't if it's the first time. Because you will face lots of difficulties while driving in Manitoba because of the huge number of lakes! Consequently, I find it Dangerous.

  4. Take Trans Canada west into Manitoba and once west of Winnipeg hit #16 that travel NW through Saskatchewan and on into Alberta and takes right to Edmonton...you could stay on Trans Canada into Calgary but then you have to head north on #2 and it is a longer drive
