  1. drink hot chocolate it always helps

  2. you can take some nyquil that should do it

  3. Ear plugs.

  4. niquil. or however you spell it. its that big pill thingy. trust me, it makes you sleep sooo soundly ! i take it when im sick.

  5. Try a white noise machine.

White noise is like static on a radio--it just whooshes or hisses--and it is hypnotic. It can put your brain on a different wave-length--which might keep you asleep longer.

Other non-medication things that may work: biofeedback, hypnosis (by a licensed professional), meditation, eating a small snack right before bedtime (no carbs).

You might try wearing soft earmuffs or a sleep-hat to bed, one that covers your ears. Soundproof your room; whereever you hear the most noise, put something soft and muffly, like a comforter or blanket, there.

Try varying your bedtime--maybe you aren't supposed to be sleeping at the time you go to bed--your waking/sleeping cycles may be off. You can reset these easily.

Guided relaxation techniques are also good to learn. Most of these things can be found by googling.
