Question:

Help i want to stop thinking like this? ?

I am 20years old, 5" 2 and 9 1/2 stone, so am not the skiniest of people! see there i go again!!

I cant help but constantly think that i am fat and ungly. I am always feeling like i have to lose weight.

I do excersice quite a bit to try and help myself feel better but it doenst last long.

I hate feeling like this and just wish that i could be happy with my body!

Please dont leave nasty comments am quite fragile about this subject!

  1. Have you checked your BMI? Body Mass Index? I think you will find you are within the ideal weight category.

    No one is happy with their body, no matter what they say. You may look at another girl and wish you had her body but she probably has more issues than you do.

    Don't beat yourself up about not exercising, if you do feel you are too big take on a calorie controlled diet to lose a few pounds. There are books available to help you do this. I use 'the calorie,carb and fat bible' its inspiring and useful.

    If you want to be truly happy with your body you must learn to accept what you have and make the best of it. Think Gok Wan!

  2. Okay honey as 21 year old girl 5,3 and 10 stone i know how u feel but u know what the more u think of it the more its in your head.

    take it step by step to forget about it

    Look at ur self in the mirror every day and pick one thing that u like  and focas on that for the day .

    Are u worried about something else that ur taking out on how u lool iam guilty of that sometimes too u need to deal with ur worrys if thats the case lol

  3. Well, the first thing to think about it your BMI, which is 24.3. Now, this is NOT OVERWEIGHT. You are considered "Normal" in terms of weight. So, you aren't fat! You might just be thinking this because you're comparing yourself to super - thin people, which you shouldn't do. Plenty of models get thin by smoking and snorting crack half the time.

    You also say you think you are ugly. You might think this, again, because you compare yourself to supermodels or the like (If that's the case, then take a look at this: http://www.hemmy.net/2007/12/01/celebrit... ).

    The thing is, different people have different definitions of ugly and pretty. There will be just as many people in the world who think you are pretty as those who think you are ugly.

    There will always be thinner and prettier people in the world, but you have to disreguard this and carry on with life.

    I'm 5" 2 too and when I was 19 the heaviest I got was 10.9 stones and i had really bad acne as well and i felt the very same way you're feeling now. Mom on the other hand always tells me that at this age we are still growing up and it's okay. But i still was unhappy with my body. And the only way you can feel good about your body is if you did something about it. I tried exercising too but it only lasts for a week or so then I gave up. Then when I thought about it again, i started exercising again and gave up over and over again. Soon after, I thought of a plan. Purposely got a myself job 20 minutes walk from my house and forced myself to walk to and fro from work every shift. A double gain to exercise and get $$$ to go shopping! But at times I felt super lazy to go into work as well, but then there was always the thought of extra cash to go shopping that motivated me. Maybe you could try. Now a year and a half later, I'm a bit over 8 stones and happy :) Good Luck!


  5. I hate skinny girls, so your mentality is wrong to think skinny is the way to go. You can impress me by making sure you have curves.....

  6. whatever you look like on the outside, you need to make sure on the inside you are happy.

    some people have diffreent metabolisms and therefore we are not all the same shape, naturally.

    best thing you can do, is control your mental thought.

    once you have any negative thought, stop and say "I love myself, I am gorgeous, I am alive and that is wonderful".

    positive thought is a good thing. if you give yourself the positive thought you will begin to feel it for real.

    keep exercising, eating well and looking after yourself; not to get thin but because you deserve to be looked after by yourself.

    wear clothes that suit your skin tone, hair colour and fit you nicely.

    buy yourself somethong that is really pretty and you love, a neckalce, or anything as a treat.

    when you wear/ carry it, you will feel special.

  7. Just be yourself. Try finding a hobby to take your mind off from this. Also remember that it might lead to annorexia. Good luck!

                     As ginny gin said I don't know one person who is 100% happy with their body. As far as the opposite s*x are concerned some will like you like that and some will not. As the saying goes YOU CAN PLEASE SOME OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME BUT YOU CANT PLEASE ALL THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME. If you want to lose weight do it gradually under supervision, stick to it and make it your goal.  Anyway 91/2 stone is not fat, us males want to cuddle up to a bit more than a stick insect trust me I know . I hope this makes you feel a bit better and don't give up ,I can just imagine you smiling at this.

  9. You sound perfect to me. Honestly there isn't a person on this planet who doesn't have some kind of hangup about their bodies so you are not alone.

  10. Beauty comes from within! Its a package deal and every part of you makes you, YOU. Many of us are a little overweight or underweight but what is important to remember is that there is NO perfect. Our society throws perfection at us everyday when looking at all the beauty magazines....but it is realistic? No. Most of those photos are airbrushed so maybe Claudia Schiffer at her age really has a flabby butt ;-) So the point is, be yourself, be happy with yourself because when you are, you will radiate like sunshine and a happy person is more attractive than a skinny unhappy person ;-)
