what are good things to volunteer to do to help the environment and help other people?

-Find a non-profit autism support group, and organize a fund-raiser to donate the proceeds to them. (Bake sale, auction, formal dinner with tickets... some fundraising ideas)

-Call a blood bank and help organize a blood drive.

-Organize a canned food drive and donate it to a soup kitchen.

-Collect toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, combs, etc. and make hygiene kits to donate to poor countries. Or, donate them to a place where a natural disaster has hit.

-Collect school supplies- paper, pencils, erasers, etc.  to make school kits to donate to less fortunate areas and countries.

-Collect blankets and donate them to a hospital or a place where a natural disaster has hit.

-Volunteer at a soup kitchen. You can prepare food for the homeless. Or, you can help pack the food.

-Visit the hospital, talk to the people, decorate their room... also, some hospitals provide flowers for you to bring to each room.

-Call your city's Parks and Recs. Most cities have an ongoing list of needed community service and environmental projects.

-Call local schools. They usually have something you can do.

join campaigns.. advocate something (clean air, water conservation, etc..) to your friends or sphere of influence..

maybe like randomly start cleaning the streets ? and the gutters and stuff.

to help other people, definately go to a nursing home and visit the elderly. i do it with school and they absolutely love the company. :) hope this helps a bit.

You can go to the a hospital in your town and become what we used to call "candy striper"  You help around the hospital by delivering flowers to the patients, bringing them juice, etc.

You can also call Parks and Recreation.  They always have things for volunteers to do.
