Sorry i have no pic. I live in Tijuana, Mexico and all over are these tiny spiders about the size of a fly, like half of a penny.

They're brown and have a little bit of black on them, they look kind of hairy and they jump a lot. Here in Tijuana its a common spider, but I always wanted to know what kind of spider it is.

Thanks for helping

  1. They're literally called jumping spiders and there are a variety of species all called Metaphidippus many of which are native to mexico.

  2. Its great when the common name of a spider it how someone describes it.  A jumping spider.  They come in a lot of sizes and colors.  Here's a page full of them.

I like them a lot.  Tap your finger in front of the spider.  It will raise its front legs and jump at your finger.  Even though it sees quite well for a spider it has no fear.  Notice it has 2 large and 6 small eyes that is very characteristic of the jumping spider.
