Help identifying a tree with red berries that is common?

this stuff is everywhere and grows really fast. gets red berries. we always called them "snake berries" when i was young and said they were poisonous. do you know anything about this plant and if the berries are edible? thanks.

Some species are native to the US, but others are considered invasives.
