Can someone help identify a berry plant we saw? The fruit looked like a blackberry or boysenberry. However, it was not growing on a plant like a raspberry. The plant was about 10 foot high, and comprised of a group of three or four small trunks about the diameter of one's forearm or upper arm. About half the pieces fo fruit were black/dark purple and the other half red (but I think those weren't ripe yet).

There were no prickly bars like other berry bushes.

  2. A Mullberry tree.  The berries are edible.  Birds love them, but unfortunately the bird p**p stains concrete walks & patios.

  3. Sounds to me like a mulberry.

  4. Mullberry
