Help im bad in math and I dont understand this problem?

use the order of operation to simplify : 5.4+2.3 sq -(1.9x3.1)

the power of operation says - first do things like squares and roots

then follow BODMAS - which is Brackets of, Divide, Multiply, add and then subtract

therefore get 2.3 square first (5.29)

then look in the brackets first and multiply 1.9 and 3.1 = 5.89

then add 5.4 to 2.3 sq which is 5.29.  5.4+5.29 = 10.69

then 10.69 - 5.89 = 4.8 is your solution
