  1. Leg exercises are the best for skiing. Streching is one the most important exercises & you should do that before you start exercising your legs. You have to excercise a lot more than your hamstring area. Skiing is an exercise which uses primarily all your muscles from your waist down & you want to stay loose. Lay on your back & do leg lifts. Spread your legs & bring them together while lifting. Stand up & try some squats, these will strengthen your thighs & calves. Also, work on keep your ankles loose & also your waist. Even some jogging or running in place is good. Don't overdue any of the exercise & finally don't do much exercise for the last couple days before you ski so you're not tired. Another important thing is that when you have your ski boots on make sure the boot fits comfortable; you can adjust it & check it again after a couple of runs since they can loosen & you might want to tighten them more. Do some stretching after you have your boots & skis on so you're loose. This will make your skiing easier. Wal-Mart has some clothing that's good enough for skiing & it's cheap. Make sure you have a waterproof jacket & ski pants. It would be good idea to buy your jacket & pants one size larger than you usually wear. That way you can fit more clothing underneath for those cold ski days. Buy long underwear & get some that stretch. Find a turtle neck sweater or use a scarf so you keep the wind off your neck & so it won't go down your neck. If you can't afford a thick wool sweater than buy the thickest sweatshirt you can find & make sure you buy the thickest socks to keep your feet warm. Leather gloves or mittens are the best but they have some cheaper ones made of canvas. Get the type that covers over your wrist & goes partially up you arm so the snow stays out. All this clothing may add up to certain amount of money but if you plan on skiing for awhile it's worth. Your ski clothing will last for yrs. Another thing to remember is the ski shops, particularly the ones at the ski areas are very expensive. Good Luck & enjoy your skiing. If you can't find what you're what your looking for at Wal-Mart then check you local sporting goods stores; I'm sure you can find one that carries ski equip. or try an oudoors store (e.g. camping, hiking, climbing etc.). These outdoors stores can have fantastic clothing. Be prepared to pay a little bit for you ski jacket & ski pants. They're are not very cheap but they'll be worth it when it's cold or wet.

    Don

  2. ***** sporting goods or modells is cheapest.

stretch your hamstring with the stretch where you hold your ankle and put your foot behind you and stand on one foot

knee injuries are actually most common(ha ha I have one right now, and I have to use crutches) but they usually only happen at random times. your hamstrings may be sore but certainly not injured

    have fun!!!!!!!!!

    =)

  3. An excercise is wall sits, you stand about a foot away from the wall and put your back up aginst it and bend you knees and hold. I never bought ski clothin gbut i go to the stable(store)

  4. Exercises that work your legs, especially your thighs and calves are good. Try doing some stairs, squats, or a stationary bike with lots of resistance.

As far as clothes, the prices vary alot depending on location and stores, so about the only help I can offer is to shop around discount stores or stores that sell mildly flawed clothing. If you have a little time before you need them, look on E-Bay, you can save loads there, people just try making a killing off of postage...

End of season most sports stores will have big sales to get rid of this years inventory. Consider buying next years outfits around spring and you'll save a bunch.

    Good luck and happy skiing!

  5. I would check all your sporting goods stores because stores have different prices. If you have time, look for the best deal because ski jackets and pants are expensive. O and my jacket and pants together were about $100  and i am 13 and ski every weekend sometimes twice. The equipment is expensive but it lasts a long time. my jacket and pants have lasted two years.

  6. Check Ebay for clothes

    seller is " online16888 "

  7. You want to build up your quads. Go to the gym. A leg press should probably do the trick. I don't now where you live, but there should be a local shop pretty cheap? If not, the Internet is always good, there's bound to be some good deals around on the net this time of year.
