  1. Ask your parents to see if the airline you fly offers session that deal with your case, fear of flying. They can walk you through from demonstrations to hopping onboard a simulator along with people who also share your situation, complete with movements on all axis. Who knows you may end turning this fear into a love for flying!

  2. I am a Student Aeronautical Engineer and a Student Pilot. I have extensive knowledge on aircraft and let me reassure you that flying is indeed much safer than any other mode of transport. Based on the number of passenger miles (not travel time which is a biased statistic) commercial flight is more than twice as safe as driving to the destination. Airline pilots are heavily trained to deal with any possible situation and the planes themselves go through rigorous inspections before every flight and for even more thorough inspections every 100 hours of flight. Even if both the pilot and the co-pilot were incapacitated (which has never happened in the 50+ years of commercial flight) ATC could easily talk another passenger with flight experience or even a flight attendant into safely landing the airplane. The government and the airline does everything in their power to keep you safe and the media heavily distorts the frequency of incidents. If you would like specific data in support or more specifics feel free to email me.

EDIT: Once again it has never happened but anyone potentially could get on the radio on 121.5 and be talked through to a landing, flight attendant or not (although it would be ideal if there were another pilot on board). Don't be so degrading "paul".

  3. pretend your in a flying box, i did that since i was 5 and it worked for me untill i was 11, now i just try to sleep though the whole thing, try that

my parents shake me when im sleeping and i get hella scared though......

    good luck

  4. Ask your parents to take you to a psychiatrist to help you deal with your irrational fears. You're more likely to be killed on the way to the airport than in the plane.

  5. It sounds like you need to look for alternatives to air travel.  Air security personnel are overloaded now with problems caused by people "freaking out," and you don't want to be responsible for delaying or rerouting a flight.  They put you in jail.

Consider traveling by rail, driving your own car, or just staying home.

  6. This should help.

It is safer to be on a plane that crossing the street.

You also have a better chance of being hit by lightning that getting hurt in a plane!

  7. Try to put yourself to sleep after you board the airplane. I think that will help

  8. a flight attendant land the airplane that's a good one. quit watching Hollywood movies most flight attendants have a difficult time just operating the video system.
