Help in biology!!(hardy Weinberg equilibrium with gene linkage)?

I don't seem to get how hardy weinburg equilibrium works with gene linkage,can someone please give me an example.

  1. The Hardy-Weinberg equation refers to allele (not gene) frequency.  Since alleles are forms of a gene, then linkage is not an issue.  If you are comparing allele frequencies between genes that are linked, then the allele frequencies for one gene as compared to the allele frequencies for the other gene will be proportional to the amount of linkage between the genes.  Are you referring to alleles for a single s*x-linked?  If so, then you have to take into account that one s*x is the homogametic s*x (in humans, the female is XX, in birds, the male is ZZ) and the other s*x is the heterogametic s*x (XY or WZ).  Can you clarify what you are looking for?
