Help in english pronunciation? english speakers.?

I am a student a degree of ESLT in my city in Mex.. the majority of teachers are mexican.. we don't have americans or british teachers.. my teacher of speaking teaching subject,,we should learn how to pronounce the regular verbs in past.. I don't know the rule.. for example lived.. believed et.in some verbs the ed sounds.. for example I have heard in some songs.. when they sing I believed it.. they pronounce all the words together.. I am not sure.. about the other rules.. and how to learn the pronunciation? the difference when someone is speaking in past.. plz help me english speakers

Hi!  When you ask about past tense pronunciation, I'm assuming that you're talking about how to pronounce the -ed (t sound, d sound, ed sound).

When a regular verb ends in t or d, then the ed is pronounced as an extra syllable (and the d is a d sound):

greet-->greeted (GREET-id)

want-->wanted (WANT-id)

wound-->wounded (WOOND-id)

When a regular verb ends in p, f, s (or s sound like x), sh, ch sound (or -tch), or k, then pronounce the -ed as a t sound:

hop-->hopped (HOPT)

hope-->hoped (HOEPT)   *the P is the last sound heard, so the -ed=t

chafe-->chafed (CHAYFT)  *f is the last sound heard

pass-->passed (PAST)

watch-->watched (WATCHT)

All other endings are pronounced as a -d, without an extra syllable:

dragged (dragd)

played (playd)

Some words end in ed that are not past tense verbs but are pronounced with the ed sound as an extra syllable: wicked, naked, etc
