I have a physical handicap and it's very hard for me to do physical labor. I have found out from getting a medical evaluation that I am not suppossed to be on my feet for eight hours a day.

My question is where can I go and who exactly can I talk to about getting financial benefits? Since I do have this problem it might stop me from working, I need to talk to somebody in areas like this, so that I can not only get disability benefits and help but a sit down job. Not a telemarketer one. If something should happen to me and I don't get nor have some financial help, it could be hard on me in paying bills. I was told that those who are disabled have a wider range of options with financing and housing, college and relocation. I found out about this from the Vocational Services here that I can't be on my feet everyday for eight hours. I need help with this and don't know how long I'll be able to hold a job doing physical labor.

However, you won't be able to get any disability benefits if you are working.  If you are working, you are not "disabled and unable to work" or however they phrase it now days.

In order to be considered disabled your condition has to be severe enough that it will likely result in your untimely death.  Also be aware, many jobs do not require you to be on your feet 8 hours a day.  I would contact your local Vocational Rehabilitation services to see if they will pay to retrain you... of course, they won't unless they determine you have a disability... and if they aren't helping you and you ALREADY saw them.... then obviously they don't think you are.  Unless you didn't ask them to be retrained... ASK!!!
