We have 2 lovely little pet budgies but our 1 year old son is scared stiff of them, so we have to rehome them. I dont know anybody who is willing to take them. They have a lovely cage with plenty of toys and I want them to be looked after well and loved, but how do I go about finding them a new home?

  1. You can contact me through the Yahoo email service. My pet cockatiel died a few months back and all I have is an empty cage.

  2. You could try seeing if there's a pet shop that will take them off your hands.

Or try posting an ad on http://www.adtrader.co.uk - that's the blue/yellow paper's website.  My dad used to use it to sell puppies.

  3. ask a pet shop to take them, or phone the rspca to let them rehome them for you.  or you could advertise them in your local paper, and sell them.

  4. where about in the country do you live? our budgie died  a few months ago and my daughters would be thrilled to give your 2 a home!

  5. im really sorry for saying this but DONT REHOME THEM just let your little son get used to them and show him that they are nice and harmless im sure it will work and in the end you will still have your two pet budgies

    hope this helps x

  6. go to craigslist.com or freecycle and post an add saying that you have two pet budgies that need a good home. State what a "good home" entails. Some owners even go to the respondant's homes to make sure it's a good home. That's how my roomate and i got our dog, and we LOVE her to PIECES. Also, just so you know, "rehoming fees" don't sit well with a lot of people. Only because if you charge a fee, you aren't really garunteeing that they have found a good home you are only showing that the people that are adopting them have the money you asked for. Does that make sense? So when you "rehome" them, if you want to make sure they go to a good home, visit the home, keep in contact with the people who adopted them for a while, and ask if you can come visit every now and then. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Ps. Your one year old could be scared now, but he's also one, you may try to give him time. Show him there's nothing to be afraid of...eventually they may grow on him. :)

    Hope that helps! good luck
