Help in searching student accommodation around Northumbria University in Newcastle Upon Tyne?

I am a international student, currently doing my 2nd year in the Uni and i am dreadful in search of suitable accommodation. Can anyone suggest a suitable area to stay and include with nearest public transport to the Uni?

I am considering Jesmond and Byker at the moment..any others?

i wouldnt choose any others but if i had to choose between the 2 you suggested which are the best options i would pick Jesmond as it is better than Byker in terms of how nice the people are

You should look at the Metro map and consider any areas where the metro stops.  The further away from the city centre you go, the cheaper the accommodation will be.

While Jesmond is a good area, prices will be sky-high and possibly out your price range.  Other areas for example you could choose:- Ilford Road, Longbenton, Four Lane Ends, Benton.  If you look the opposite direction on the map, you have Byker, which you have mentioned, this covers a large student populated area.

I would definitely recommend Ilford/Longbenton area.
