This Question deals with columns to fill out on the proof of loss form.

They want to know:

Description -Make and Model of item

Age

Place of Purchase

Orig cost.

That is easy except in the case of an item purchased USED.

Does age mean the time since the purchase?

Does age mean the age of the item itself? (not always possible to know this)

Does AGE mean the time of ownership or the age of the item if when purchased new by the original purchaser?

  1. They want to know the age of the item itself.

Think of it.....I purchase a console tv from you for $50.00.  The tv was originally built in 1980.  However, I purchased the tv from you last year.  There is a big difference between me putting 1 year (time I owned it) and 28 years (actual age of the item).  I would put 28 years on the claim form.  It's ok if you don't know the exact age - put your best estimate.

  3. The age means the age of the item itself. If you don't know the exact age, estimate.
