I'm installing a GE digital cordless telephone (21880) with corded speakerphone, this has the appearance of a regular phone. The 2 other handsets making up the system, have their own charger stations.

What I'm not sure about is the setting on the base of the desk phone which allows for 3 difftert flash signal time duration settings, 100,300 or 600 ms.(milli seconds??)

How do I know which to use, and what is the function ?

  1. flash signal time duration is the amount of time in milliseconds that the switch hook will disconnect when you press the flash button... this is used to answer a call waiting, or initiate 3 way calling. you should leave it at the factory preset time.

if when pressing the flash button you lose or disconnect the first caller, then lower the time delay...

if when pressing the flash button you are not transfered to the call waiting, or get dial tone to activate 3 way calling, then raise the time delay..
