  1. when you press and hold the play/pause button. It will be turned off. Turning it on requires just a press on any button. Either 2nd gen or 3rd gen of iPod Nano, you have to move the "hold" switch to the position where you can see an orange color label after doing it.

It's similar to keypad locking in cell phones. Hope this info helped..

  2. turn it off by pressing the play button for a while until it turns dark. but then you shouldnt press any other buttons or it will turn on again, no matter which one you touch. i was wondering about that at first too. just switch to the hold button or i have no idea what it actually is haha. this orange thing on the bottom of it, you know what i mean? if you do that you wont accidentally turn your ipod on again.

  3. its broken

  4. ipod's are never truly Off (except touch and iphone) they go to standby.

press and hold the play button till the screen goes black then its in standby until you touch another key.

to stop it turning on again move the lock slider until the orange/red tab shows.

to turn it back on move the slider from lock to unlock (green or blank) then press any key and it will restart from where you left off!
