Help! june bugs are all over my basil plants and damaging the leaves.?

the plants are literally covered with mating bugs! i'd like to salvage the plants if possible. these plants i (well did) use the leaves to eat so is there an organic way to get rid of the critters? thanks!!

  1. Soap will have zero effect on them. Shake them off the plant and cover it with row cover or a sheet on a couple of hoops or a tomato cage to keep the fabric off of the plant.

    For long term control, apply beneficial nematodes to your soil during the wet season (spring and fall for the eastern US). the nematodes will devour the grubs in the soil.

  3. no not vinegar just soapy water will do and then put some crushed up egg shells...vinegar will  make the leaf to  droop and turn yellow.
